Luis R. Pernia, MD, FACS
Dr. Luis Pernia is a plastic surgeon who has been serving Alabama families for more than 40 years.
As Tuscaloosa’s first fully trained plastic surgeon, he pioneered care in the state, performing Alabama’s first arm replant and establishing North Alabama’s first cleft lip and palate team. He continues to lead cleft care clinics in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, while also being one of the region’s busiest hand surgeons—restoring function and saving countless hands after injury. Known for his faith-centered approach and dedication to patients, Dr. Pernia combines skill and compassion in every procedure.
Robert P. Bolling, MD, MPH
Dr. Robert Bolling is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon with advanced training in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery—an achievement held by few in his field.
A Fayette native, he earned his medical degree and Master of Public Health from UAB before completing surgical training at the University of South Alabama and a fellowship at Tulane University, where he twice served as Chief Resident. Dr. Bolling is passionate about caring for patients of all ages, from children with cleft lips to women rebuilding after breast cancer, as well as individuals seeking cosmetic improvements. Known for his skill and compassion, he is dedicated to restoring function, confidence, and quality of life.
